Services are individualized to the needs of the specific client.
Evaluations may include:
Parent interview, standardized testing, clinical observations of sensory processing, testing of reflex integration, teacher consult or classroom observation, and review of reports from other health professionals.
After the clinic visit, a written report is generated and shared with the parents. A virtual parent meeting is held to discuss the report and develop a plan of care that could include: individual sessions in the clinic, development and monitoring strategies for school, development and monitoring of a home program including behavior management strategies, reflex integration exercises, a sensory diet and parent education.
The backbone of Colette’s comprehensive approach is the unique contribution of the Masgutova Method for Reflex Integration (MNRI). MNRI provides a framework to understand the status of each childs foundational skills. In many cases, it is the inadequate development or lack of these building blocks that has limited the effectiveness of more typical therapeutic approaches. MNRI is particularly effective for children who have experienced birth or early childhood trauma or who have been in therapy for several years and have “hit” a roadblock. MNRI is not easy or quick but the results are profound and long lasting. It truly can be the “Missing Link”.
