Colette Silver is a pediatric occupational therapist with a private practice in Chevy Chase, Maryland.
Colette focuses on the evaluation and treatment of the foundational processes that support development of age appropriate motor, cognitive and social emotional skills of children from birth to age 8 years.
One of these processes, Sensory Integration, is the ability to orient to, regulate and integrate sensory stimuli, both internal and in the environment and make an appropriate adaptive response. The inability to do this is called Sensory Processing Disorder.
Colette works with her clients to develop age appropriate motor skills. Her approach combines her deep understanding of movement, earned through years of dance and movement training and advanced study of the Masgutova Method for NeuroSensoriMotor Reflex Integration (MNRI).
Colette uses a team approach and works closely with families, teachers and other professionals to develop a comprehensive and effective plan to help each client achieve their full potential.
